Tidecast feature guide
How custom tide alerts work
Save a tide level connected to your plan. Tidecast finds predicted crossings and reminds you one day before the event.

1. Learn a useful local level
Start with a familiar place and compare predicted height with what you observe. A useful threshold can differ between stations and activities.
2. Save the level and direction
Choose the tide height that matters. Tidecast can find when the prediction crosses that level while rising or falling.
3. Get time to plan
Tidecast can send a local notification one day before the predicted event. Open the app to recheck timing and current conditions.
4. Treat alerts as reminders
Predictions do not account for every weather or coastal factor. Check official alerts and observe local conditions before acting on a reminder.
